St Mary the Virgin Church at Great Milton has just established its own localised Wi-Fi network. It is the first religious building in Oxfordshire to have an Info Point installed.
The Info Point enables anyone with a mobile phone to view an 11-point interactive tour of the Grade I historic building and its unique features. The church tour includes information on the significant 17th century Dormer Monument and an unusual church organ that is placed in the vicar’s stall.
Our Info Point is just the first step in our church eventually getting more in tune with the expectations of the 21st century.
We already have an excellent guide book but we can now compare favourably with some of the country’s well-visited places for innovative interpretation and this will be
Reverend. Simon Cronk, Rector of Great Milton, Little Milton and Great Haseley
appreciated by the local residents as well as our visitors.
Plans to add a children’s quiz are also in the pipeline. St Mary’s gets an exceptional number of overseas visitors for a small village church because of its immediate proximity to Le Manoir aux Quat’Saisons hotel.
